I’m going in bullet form, because it’s been That Kind of Morning already.
*Found the charger to my camera’s battery. It was out in plain sight; but since I was looking for just a cable, I didn’t think to look and see the big FUJI label on the front. Um… whoops. But the good news is that I was able to charge my camera! And it works again! And I can start posting pictures for tutorials and random stuff! And I have an exclamation mark key! Isn’t that awesome?!?
*Eldest Daughter comes home from her Mandated Three Weeks with her father. I’m a little stressed because I had wanted to do much more around the house before tonight. But between running after the wee ones, and trying to take care of house stuff, and all… yeah. I suck at time management. But she’ll be with us for the last three weeks of summer vacay, so she can be slave labor and do a ton of stuff or at least make sure her sisters don’t climb the very tall bookcases while I try to get painting done.
*Last night was not a good night in der Squirrelhaus. I broke a toe (I swear, between that and dropping a six pound enchilada sauce can on another toe of the same foot, I feel like I’m trying to compete with the Oatmeal for Prettiest Feetsies Ever– at least he got his running an ultramarathon http://theoatmeal.com/blog/ultramarathon, while I was just a dip and tried to rip my pinkie toe off with a box we had filled for a charity to come pick up. His reason? Totally is deserving of wow. Mine? Totally is deserving of a Gibbs). Then… Toddler Terrorist did NOT sleep much. And Preschool Rockstar did not either. I don’t know if it was National Make Your Parents Sleep-Deprived night or what but holy crap I’m tired. Today is going to be Pajama Day because I just don’t have the energy to do ANYTHING plus the toe is really hurty. There might be a marathon of Suess stories(yeah, that’s a test of endurance right there!)
*I am on my second round of watching the Cadfael series. I’m tempted to order the books but I’m worried that reading the books would ruin the enjoyment I get out of watching Derek Jacobi running around solving crime and being all compassionate and stuff… and on the other side of the coin, that I couldn’t get into the book because the series is how I remember the stories. I’m weird. I know. Plus I have a STACK of other books on my nightstand– just finished book three of The Mortal Instruments series and it was better then Twilight I’ll tell you that much… Trying to eak out the time to finish Game of Thrones of which I’m about a third of the way through. It’s pretty good, and I kinda like the writing style of each chapter being told, more or less, from the viewpoint of one of the characters (but there’s not a whole lot of backtrack, the story moves forward). Husband finished a collection of Glen Cook books, and seemed to enjoy them as well. Right now I have a bookmark in a biography of Laura Ingalls Wilder (the lady who wrote the Little House series). I’ll pick that one back up when I’m finished with Game of Thrones…and I’m also reading This Rough Magic (Heirs of Alexandria), which is DENSE– but given that two of the authors are Eric Flint and Mercedes Lackey? Yeah, that was gonna happen. It’s a sequel to The Shadow of the Lion, which you NEED to start with if you are going to go anywhere near this series imo.
*Craftopolis: I have a sweater on needles for Preschool Rockstar. I’m painting a dresser for the girls which is taking up most my time (pictures when it’s done). That’s… about it, aside from going through my stuff and trying to condense down or getting them in a better storage situation. I was recently able to pare the fabric down by two of the huge lawn and garden bags and give them to a dear friend, who is also a teacher (so she was able to share the wealth with another teacher that was starting a quilting club). I also have some bags cut out that need to be sewn (some are from this pattern: http://whipup.net/2007/09/01/wallet-sized-fold-up-re-usable-shopping-bag/ however, I’ve made some modifications on it).
That’s about it around here. Have a great day everyone.
Hope you get some sleep tonight. *hugs*
If I remember correctly, the Cadfael books are close to the series.. and they are easy reads; they are not big books at all.
While I’m here, I gotta question.. what’s your favorite color?
Thank you love! *hugs back* either blue or purple are my fave colors.. should I be worried? 😉
🙂 We have that in common. I was curious is all.. and you have no reason to worry, none whatsoever. *evil cackle*
